One sunny winter’s morning, we gathered a dozen of Sai Kung and Clearwater Bay’s busiest women to have their picture taken. Meet our “momtrepreneurs”, savvy working women who took a desire to spend more time with their families and turned it into an array of business from spas to magazines, we asked how they strike that elusive work-life balance.
What do you enjoy most about being a momtrepreneur?
Eve Roth Lindsay: I love being able to involve the girls in the business. Both our daughters are business-minded and creative, and they have been involed since they were young. I feel it is very important to teach your children how to support themselves. Asia and jasmine are used to working so it won’t be a shock when they have to support themselves.
What characteristics must a momtrepreneur have?
Eve: Lots of energy. Being a workaholic helps.
How does your husband handle your business success?
Eve: David is incredibly supportive.
Any rules to help stay organized?
Eve: Lists, lists, lists… even my lists have lists. And a good support team at home and at work.
Best advice you have ever been given?
Eve: My parents taught us to figure out what we liked to do most, and then figure out a way to be paid for it.
